Gas House Project

Hauling home 5-gallon containers of gas to feed the lift truck, tractor, mower, chainsaw and rental equipment is a pain. I was at a garage sale and spotted a large rusty tank on top of a collapsed wood frame next to the garage. Can't remember how much I paid for it but I bet it was less than $50. Heavy bugger with about 40 gallons of diesel in it, which leaked from vent when we rolled it onto my trailer.

Tank holds 900 gallons. Inside I have 55 gal. acetone drum, 55 gal. diesel drum with hand pump, 55 gal. drum of waste oil, 16 gal. Hyd fluid drum with hand pump, several 5 gal. buckets of other fluids, funnels, etc., etc., etc.

I used to get 700 gallon delivery from co-op each year. Now my usage is so low, I stopped using the tank and the remaining 50? gallons in it has been there over 5 years. The siding wood and non-PT 2x4 nailers are rotting away due to insufficient ventilation, caused by small (way too small) vents I put in wall being covered by Ivy.
